that's horrible to see, but the demolition is hardly 'ruthless' is it? It's not been done maliciously, but by a contractor being asked to do a job. Fucking Daily Mail always looking to stir up some shit or other.

It's not too late! Buy it back, rebuild the east stand and we have a cracking ground there. I know, not going to happen but I still can't imagine coming back over and going to a game and it not being at UP.

I hear queuing at upton park was a breeze compared to getting a tube from Stratford

Nothing - NOTHING - can ever be so bad in comparison to suggest that queuing at Upton Park was a breeze. Unless you mean in a meteorological sense, in which case you can add rain and cold to that. And horse shit.

Heartbreaking is the right word. I couldn't give a fuck what anyone says, we should never have left. Football is all about the community and he local area, heart and soul ripped from the club for good now.
Arsenal fans don't like The Emirates much but it's in exactly the same area as Highbury, so still have the same sourroundings, which means a lot.

Agree with the heartbreaking thing. But "Football is all about the community and he local area". It was, but whether you like it or not, that's only part of it these days. The bottom line is that it's a business, so it's more correct to say that football is all about money, with support from local communities. Actually, I'm not even sure that's right any more...

The community and the local area? What did that have to do with West Ham United in the last 20-30 years?

It's simple. That was our manor, Stratford's not. 112 years of history around those streets. If I can't turn right at Upton Park tube station stroll down Green Street to watch West Ham, then it's not West Ham.

Re: Heartbreaking

Going to a match at UP was a great experience, the general buzz in and around that place on a match day was something that they'll never be able to recreate at Stratford. I get football is business first nowadays, but I thought David Gold, having been born on green street might have realized that the better value for everyone would have been to stay true to the roots of the club and build on what we had. There were options to rebuild parts of UP to get more seats and revenue, that I believe would have been a better choice overall than ripping the club away from its roots. Ultimately it's us who will have to reckon with watching football at the soulless athletics stadium in Stratford long after the daves have sold up and gone.
